It’s here, it’s here! Spring has officially arrived! While I will admit that I’m bummed about the absence of the white stuff (what is the point of winter if it isn’t white at least a few times?!), now that the flowers are blooming and the birds are signing, I’m fully invested in springing spring. There is something so joyful about watching the bulbs poke themselves out of the dirt, and the buds on the trees as they open and add some much-needed color to the world.
Speaking of color and flowers, I recently stumbled upon the neatest kindness project. Officially, it’s called the Flower Ninja Project, although it seems to really be known as “For the One Who Finds Me.” The project began in Madison, Wisconsin as a social art project with the hope to “create more and more kindness in the world, one tiny bouquet at a time.” Simply, you print a tag and create a small bouquet which you then leave in a public space for someone to find. The tag reads “If you find this, it’s for you” and invites the recipient to post their find to social media. This warms my heart! Flowers are such a symbol of happiness and beauty and bestowing that positivity onto a stranger is just so neat – it’s simple yet perfect kindness!
Some scrolling of the social media accounts shows flowers found from Wisconsin to North Carolina to Iowa to Texas. I plan to join the project with the kids. I’m hopeful the recipients will post their finds – it’ll be awesome to add Havertown to the list of places where kindness blooms. If you’d also like to join in on the fun, you can get all of the details here .
To all of my Main Line Neighbors, I wish you a wonderful spring! Soak in the sunshine, smile at the flowers, and keep your eye out for little vases of sweet surprises – you never know where one might make an appearance!
