  • Andee Axe
    Andee Axe
    Visual Arts: Mixed Media, Painting
Andee Axe makes art that smiles at you. And it makes you want to smile back. No matter what color is on her brush, she paints from a palette of vivid emotions, happy memories, and pure joy. Whether familiar or famous, the subjects in her paintings aren’t afraid to have fun and take you along for the ride. They dance. They wink. They sparkle. They use bold pop colors to celebrate the brightest moments we share with the people who we love. Each painting sends a burst of happy into the world, and that’s something we can all appreciate. Andee is the kind of person who has never been able to sit and watch the paint dry. From an early age, she has always had her sleeves rolled up, always ready to enthusiastically make a splash on any canvas she could find. She studied two-dimensional fine arts at Moore College of Art and later worked as a licensed artist inside Philadelphia. Her independent work appears in numerous private collections and can be seen in Philadelphia Galleries and her private studio by appointment.

Visual Arts: Mixed Media, Photography, Visual Arts
I don’t know what compels me to get up each day and rifle though images and hand-painted papers to find the odds and ends I paste onto a canvas, board or piece of paper.  I’m quite obsessed. I guess that selling vintage picturebooks for nearly two decades had a hand in this manic pursuit as I so love the illustrators of these books who greatly influenced my choice of subject matter – colorful, imaginary landscapes and creatures. Using painted papers and ephemera, I make whimsical worlds filled with critters, carnival whirligigs and joyous, playful people wearing funny hats and bow ties. If the result makes me laugh, I’m satisfied. If the result makes a viewer smile, I consider it a success. I’m playing photography.  Oh my. What fun! Stephen Hawking said, “We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe.” I’m so grateful and cognizant of my one life and aim to fill it with laughter, love & fun. Making art is playful. It fills me with joy.  It’s fun.  It’s as simple as that.
  • Lynnette Shelley
    Lynnette Shelley
Visual Arts: Mixed Media, Painting, Visual Arts
Lynnette Shelley is an award-winning Pennsylvania artist specializing in contemporary mixed media animal and nature paintings. Having a great love of wildlife, patterns and archetypes, Shelley fuses these influences into her strikingly unique artworks. Her highly detailed and complex compositions are created using a sophisticated process developed from a buildup of multiple layers incorporating techniques in both drawing and painting – from crosshatching to ink splatter to linear painting.  Some of Shelley’s work (her “fauxsaic” paintings) also incorporates elements of collage in which she adds hand-colored and cut watercolor paper to the artwork in a process that resembles mosaic tile. Shelley’s animal and nature themed artworks have been displayed nationally as well as regionally at museums, art galleries and other venues. In 2021, Shelley was awarded “Master Artisan” status by the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. Originally from Delaware, Shelley lives in Ambler, Pennsylvania, and maintains a private studio in Norristown.

My artwork reflects intensity and strength. Pen and ink is an ideal medium for this purpose. Pure black sharply contrasted with white creates potential for direct and classical imagery. I enjoy the challenge of producing various textures and emotions using only the most basic tools: a black pen mark. I am currently exploring additional mediums with the intent of capturing the human spirit and my own personal journey. You can track my progress as I grow at Studio Incamminati through my Instagram account: @scottwoyakart. I am learning to draw the figure first using charcoal, then grisaille, and eventually full color. As I evolve, my resulting artwork will become an outlet for the fire that burns within. Let’s do this thing! – Scott Woyak
